Houston, Texas – February 5, 2016The INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (ICC) has re-established the Galleria Chamber of Commerce. The former stand-alone Galleria chamber ended services in 2013. The new Galleria Chamber anchored by the 30-year old Houston Intercontinental Chamber of Commerce has established offices on Westheimer at the same location and floor as the Houston Business Journal and Quan Law Group.

Iconic Galleria features anchor the chamber board to fully recognize it as the chamber for the area.   Board members include the Galleria Mall, the Houston Polo Club, Quan Law Group, the JW Marriott, Houston Business Journal, and NRG, among others.

The partnership with the Galleria Mall, one of the most known features and identities labeling the area, includes membership for its over 400 stores. This partnership will add and return great traditions to the chambers plan of operations that also includes business services, special events, business mixers, galas, fashion shows, and other business and community developing programs.

“Having the Galleria Mall has one of our board members and iconic, anchor members is key to establishing this chamber and board as the active organization to promote and assist other Galleria businesses and entities with programs that reflect and represent the areas interests,” commented ICC President Reggie Gray. “Programs and events that we can return to the area with the partnership of the Galleria Mall will be key to re-vitalizing the chamber’s impact to the area.”

“Establishing the chamber in the area again with the pillars of what the Galleria is known for such as the mall, polo club, and key restaurants and retailers, has been a top priority.” “Having a base of the long-lasting Intercontinental Chamber also further insures stability and even variety and extra opportunities for the members.” The ICC-Galleria membership is honored at all of the chamber offices. So for our members in Houston it is like getting two memberships for the price of one.” The membership will also allow the members access to events and opportunities with our other offices globally as ICC is now represented with offices in thirteen countries – U.S., Mexico, Panama, Malta, Italy, UAE-Dubai, Germany, Russia, Kazakhstan, Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, and China.” Continued Reggie Gray.

Bill Pilkington, of Bentley, Bratcher & Associates, is currently serving as Chair for both the north Houston and Galleria boards, as he has been a key resource for the success of ICC in its city-wide and global expansion, and later this year he will transition the ICC Galleria board over to Sidney Evans of NRG. Evans, the chair-elect for the new board of directors is a past President and long-time board member of the original Galleria chamber. Evans has been one of the key supporters in re-vitalizing the new chamber and board.

“I am honored to once again serve on the board of directors for a Galleria Chamber as well as the opportunity to be the first Chair of the re-newed organization,” “The Galleria is such an important part of the Houston identity and economy, myself and others agreed it really needed a chamber located in the heart of the community, to focus on the businesses and people that drive the Galleria market.” commented Evans regarding re-vitalizing the chamber for the Galleria area.

Events have been underway since fall of last year to build membership and have already been held at the JW Marriott, HESS Club, the Double Tree Hotel, the Junior League, The Houston Polo Club, Capital Grille, Ruth’s Chris, and other venues.

Another board member, very well known to the Galleria and Houston market that will be key to chamber’s launch is Publicist Judy Nichols. Nichols will not only be serving as one of the board directors, but will also be handling the publicity for the chamber as it re-establishes itself in the Galleria area.
